Mousavi and Karroubi Detained and Transferred to Heshmatieh Prison

Mir-Hossein Mousavi, Mehdi Karroubi and their spouses Zahra Rahnavard and Fatemeh Karroubi have been arrested and transferred to the Heshmatieh Prison in Tehran.

Political Prisoners Jafar Kazemi and Mohammad Ali Haj-Aghaei Executed Kaleme reports that their transfer to the Heshmatieh Prsion has been confirmed but the exact time is unknown.

 The authorities had remained silent regarding the house arrest and the limitations on Mousavi and Karroubi. Mousavi’s daughters had received conflicting responses when referring to the street where their house is located and were not able to contact their parents. more...


Concerns over Mehdi Kouhkan’s Condition

There are concerns as to the condition of Ward 350 detainee Mehdi Kouhkan.

 

Mehdi Kouhkan who has been imprisoned since February of last year has been suffering from severe knee problems for months. He has been deprived of medical attention.

His condition is worrisome to the extent that he has fallen on the ground several times and has been suffering from severe pain. He is in need of surgery but the authorities have prevented it. more...


Two Citizens Arrested in Saghez

Two citizens by the names of Vafa Moradi and Sadigh Hasani have been arrested by the security forces.

  Vafa Moradi and Sadigh Hasani, who reside in a village in Saghez were arrested and transferred to prison last week. There has been no information as to the alleged charges. link

Baha’i Citizen Peyman Kashfi Began Serving Sentence

Baha’i citizen Peyman Kashfi was detained on February 14th in order to being serving his 4 year prison sentence.

 

Judge Moghayeseh had sentenced him to 4 years in prison for membership in anti-regime groups (belonging to the Baha’i faith).

The Human Rights House of Iran reports that his sentence was upheld by the appeals court. He had been detained in October of last year and was later released on bail. link


Five Years of Imprisonment for Ehsan Abdeh-Tabrizi

The appeals court has upheld the 5 years imprisonment sentence for political activist Ehsan Abdeh-Tabrizi.

1 He had previously been sentenced to 7 years in prison which was reduced to 5 years in prison.

He was acquitted from the charge of collaborating with foreigners and sentenced for insulting the Supreme Leader, and assembly and conspiracy. He has been in prison for 14 months and deprived of furlough. link
